Alice talks about her marriage to Stan, a Polish migrant, and the story he told her when he saw a Deutz 1938 tractor in the Edililie Museum. He remembers how a tractor like this saved his life during the final years of World War Two.

Alice's looks back upon certain aspects of her life - her unhappy preschool days, the bullying at school, teachers who lacked grace and how all of this influenced her later life.  

Alice remembers how difficult it was to plan a family in the 1950's in rural South Australia.
