One of Annette's friends, Margaret, very kindly gave her a doll's for her 6 years old granddaughter.  Margaret was given the doll's house as a child.  

Annette talks about the new friends she has made as a member of Life Story Circle and her old and treasured friends from her school days.  

Annette talks about the Xmas traditions of her mother's family that have been passed down through the generations.  

Annette commenced her working life at the age of 14 years at Woolworths.  After marrying at the age of 16 she did not re-enter the workforce until she was 39 years of age.  She shares her story of working for Dial-an-Angel as a respite carer for the elderly.    

  Annette shares with us stories of her father (WWII and Korean) and grandfather (WW!) who served their country in war and suffered following their experiences.  Annette gives a  tribute to her mother-in-law, Maria Lorenz who was held as a prisoner of war in a German camp    

  Annette shares her introduction to school life when she was taught by Nuns, who convinced her at 4 years of age that we were all sinners.          

Annette talks about the 18 months she spent living in the Goodwood Orphange when she was 4 years of age.  She goes on to tell of how she enjoyed her years at Marryatville Primary School when she lived above the Rising Sun Hotel in Kensington.

Annette says she was never a great sports person but she did excel at swimming. As a hobby she enjoyed sewing and square dancing but writing has been with her all her life.  

Annette remembers celebrating her 21st birthday with her close family.

Annette recalls her youth in Adelaide from ages 11-16 including her first date at the Drive In.  

Annette talks about her grandparents - who she never knew. This excerpt is taken from a history of all South Australians who fought in the First World War.
